Theory of Constraints

A little more than one month ago, Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt was diagnosed with lung cancer. Dr. Goldratt is the author “The Goal” and many more books based on Theory of Constraints. When I speak about Stratum III systems and Stratum IV integration of systems, this is the foundation. Eli passed away on June 11, 2011.

This is sad news. His writings have had a tremendous positive impact on my business and personal life. He will be missed.

One incredible mind this world has lost. Fortunately, he generously transferred his mind to others, and his thinking will survive his death.

I believe Dr. Goldratt, though he had tremendous impact during his lifetime, will become like many historical artists, authors, scientists, mathematicians, and others in that his impact and notoriety will increase all the more after his passing.

    Goodnight, Jonas.

I was once worked under Eli’s consulting company’s project in China. And his idea was so simple that only genius could afford to see it. I always think that TOC + Requisite Organization is the best combination in the management world, both are actionable knowledge.

Very sad news. Years ago I read It’s Not Luck and The Goal, both of which have shaped my thinking and had a positive impact on the work I do.

The world will really miss his big ideas. I had just been introduced to Requisite Organisation when found his books. Reading his books, I learnt the beautiful minds in each stratum.

TOC is by far the most innovative thinking I have come across for not only manufacturing, but holistic systems thinking. I have been using Mr. Goldratt’s material since 1998 in a myriad of settings. Manufacturing, a not for profit residential facility and foster care organization, as a General Manager for a metal bar grating company, and now as a functional consultant. Peace to you Mr. Goldratt and to your family, you changed my paradigm.
